Hola

Hey. It's been awhile since I posted because... our computer is out of commission for now. But things are going good, we have a couple of apartments we are looking at and Adia is doing very well. I can't believe she is going to be two in less than a month. I can't believe I am going to be 25 in less than a week. Save me.

Cloud in the sky, fish in a pond, flea on a dog...

I'm back.
And, wow, was my daughter upset that I was gone all weekend. As soon as she saw me this morning she squealed. I've never heard her make that noise before :)
I had a good time, I spent alot of time in the pools, hot tubs, and sauna. My mother in law brought some killer apple crisp, and the ladies in her room came over to share it with the ones in my room.
I am way too tired to write anything else. Ciao.

Yeah...

I'm not gone yet. I'll be leaving in about ten minutes. I do have to say though that I am absolutely terrified right now. It's weird, because I know everybody that will be there. I just... I think I am scared coz I'll be away from my comfort zone: No husband and no Adia.
Wish me luck.
Well, I am leaving today to go to Waterville Valley for the weekend. My husband and Adia get to spend the weekend together with no mommy. I am so nervous. Not for Adia or Dave, I know they will do fine. I'm nervous coz I have never been away from Adia for more than one night. I was gonna make cookies today before I left, but the morning is going a little slower than I expected. I am gonna make some shepherds pie for the girls in my condo tomorrow night. Oooh. That means I need to chop up an onion. I feel like I spend my life chopping onions. Maybe that means we eat onions too much.
I still gotta pack, get all the food set out and ready, shower, get all my meds together, and go over to the pharmacy to get a birthday card and an anniversery card. It's alot to do. But I have plenty of time.
Well, wish me luck on my lonely weekend.

What I've Done

Okay. I need to start cleaning pretty soon. I just really need to post this video. I've been meaning to for a couple of weeks.

Alright, and now I'll get off my little soapbox.
OH! Last night, I decided that I will post one classic Sesame Street clip a week. Yeah, coz I love old school Sesame Street, and I run this blog.
Now, I must get to cleaning. Ta ta.

AHA!

Alot of things have been going missing in our apartment lately. And things that are kind of hard to misplace, like flashcards, notebooks, and oh! my favorite flip flops. Well, we found out this evening where they all are. My adorable little girl has been taking stuff from ALL over the apartment and hiding them. In a place where she can't even get to them. In front of our living room window, we have an old fashioned radiator. Yep, it's all behind there. I was able to get most of it out... I'm still trying to figure out how to get the last couple of remaining flash cards. Any ideas??

Yep

Another couple ones from my childhood.
This first one was so funny to me when I was a kid. I always tried to remember exactly how Big Bird said it... and oh my goodness, look at Big Bird. Completely vintage Sesame Street.

This second one was one of my favorites. I recently showed it to my husband, and his only comment was "Wow, you had a whacked childhood, if thats your favorite."

Today's Special

I remember this show from when I was really little and Judy used to take care of me. I LOVED this show SOOOOOOOOOOO much.

Ouch.

I got my first filling ever today. Not bad, except for a dull ache. It only took about 5 minutes. The dentist kept saying how it was the smallest cavity she had ever seen. I guess that's good, if you have to have a cavity.
So, I guess my ex husbands girlfriend is way too cool to read an email I sent her that only said "Happy Mother's Day." Way to go on being a complete witch. Hopefully someday she'll grow up and realize that unless she wants to totally screw with my sons head that eventually she will have t talk to me. We are all CO parents.
Tomorrow is my day off. Sadly though, it will not be. I feel like doing a massive cleaning, and cooking. I'm thinking tofu stir fry for dinner, and maybe chocolate chip cookies for dessert. I got to remember that I have toddlers tomorrow night. I'd like to take a teaching position, but even if there was an opening I don't think my husband would be too happy with that. I can't wait to see him tonight. I'm not gonna cook dinner tonight. Just stick a pizza in
the oven. I didn't take out anything to thaw this morning, so I really don't have a choice anyway.
Well, my friend Amanda, just stopped by and asked me to check my email. Apparently her mother in law is trying to get rid of a toddler bed, so here goes:

This is a cute bed. I do like it, but I do have to talk to my husband about it.
Oh, I figured out what I am going to do for invitations to Adia's birthday party. They'll be handmade. Literally. That's another thing I need to do tomorrow, I have to work more on planning Adia's birthday party. It's gonna be a full day tomorrow, but I love it when that happens.
Alright. I am going to head off now. Ciao.

Yurts or Domes????

First off, before I say anything else, I must say: I HAVE THE SNEEZIES!
So, I've been looking up yurts and domes for the past hour. I want to do this SOOOOO badly. And I love the fact that a yurt is much cheaper than buying a home, but you can get them large enough where they will be able to be made into a home. You can even have lofts!! Yep, if we can get into this apartment Jessica was telling me about, we will be able to save up for a yurt. But... uh... land. And water... I think now that we have decided we would most want a yurt we need to research alternative energy methods. Oh fun, fun!! More research. I'll let you know what I come up with.

Party Planning

This morning, after I fed Adia breakfast (banana, strawberries and a hard boiled egg, in case you are interested) I was writing out my to-do list for the day. All of a sudden it hit me. Adia is going to be two in a month! I need to start planning her birthday party. It's not going to be Elmo themed this year. She still loves Elmo, but I shouldn't spend too much money this year. (I shouldn't have last year though, either.) So far I have the guest list, where we are going to have it, and what we are going to do for invitations. I have some idea what we are going to do for food, cake and games. I figure we will have it be summer themed. Hopefully have a cheap plastic pool, and we'll eat on the church lawn, kind of a picnic thing. I was also thinking of asking a boy I know who is really good with kids if he could come and dress up kind of silly and play games with the kids, like Ring Around the Rosie, Simon Says, Musical Chairs, etc. The kids could also finger paint. I figure I can do finger foods, like veggies, chips, pizza, and maybe some grilled cheese sandwiches. I wasn't sure whether to do a regular cake or a cupcake cake. The kids range in age from 18 months to almost 4 years old...
I'm pretty excited. I wish I had Excel or Word downloaded on my computer. Ya know... I was just thinking that I promote so many items on my blog, that maybe I should ad AdSense to my blog, and make some money with my ramblings.
In fact I'll do that now.

My Mothers Day

It's Monday...
Mother's Day was nice. My husband got me a box of chocolates (like I need them), a package of pecan pinwheels (long story), a Yankees candle (vanilla lime), and a HUGE book of Sudoku games. My mother and father in law also got me a gift certificate to Aggie's (perfect lol, they know me so well). We spent most of the afternoon at my mothers. We had a barbecue and Adia spent the first half of the afternoon in the backyard trying to drink out of the garden fountain. The rest of the afternoon she spent chasing Kady Mae, Oliver (dogs) and Callie (the cool cat). I also got a wonderful phone call from my son, wishing me a Happy Mothers Day. That was very nice. Afterwards we went out for dinner with my in laws to the Weathervane. Nice little story:
If there is anyone who REALLY knows me they know that I am dripping with unluckiness. At the Weathervane they had one of those claw games where you direct the claw and try to pick up some stuffed animal or something. So I asked my husband if he had 50 cents so I could try to win something for Adia. He handed me about $2.00 worth of quarters and said "Don't come back until you win something." So, I grabbed Adia and we went over. I stuck 50 cents in and started moving the claw. I moved it to the front, and pushed the button to drop the claw, and picked up a pink and black fish!! I WON!!! On the first try!!! So, I went back to my husband and gave him the fish and Adia. I tried to give him back his money. He said "Now don't come back until you win me something." Didn't work so well this time.
I am making my mother in laws mac and cheese tonight. I know it's not going to turn out as good as hers, but I'm sure gonna try.
Ok. I wasn't going to say anything until I know, but a friend of mine said there is a good chance she can get us into an apartment. It's small, but we are all used to that. :) And the only thing else I am going to say is its CHEAP!!
Which reminds me: Adia's second birthday is coming up in about a month. She just learned how to get in and out of her crib, so her biggest need/want is a toddler bed.
And speaking of that, she just woke up, so goodbye!

Vitameatavegiman

Ugh. Adia and my husband are going Mothers Day shopping today, all day. I'm SICK! I think. I thought it was allergies, but yeah... I took my allergy medicine this morning and then a little later I took cold medicine. And I am still all stuffy. Yes, I am whining. But I am bummed. I hate being sick. (Well, nobody likes it.) I wish we had tea and honey.
So my brother in law Jon gave me some vitamins to take last night. It's called Vitassential Complete. It's all natural, which was a bit of a seller for me, AND they are vegetarian. He asked me to take them for a month. So, I am going to. Maybe if I take these and they do what he said they would do I won't have to take 5 billion medications everyday.
Yeah. I want to take a bath now. Ciao.

Friday, May 11, 2007

I didn't post yesterday because I was off with my husband and Adia. It was nice. We never get to all spend time together anymore. I mean, it's usually Adia and me, or Adia and my husband, or me and my husband. I was numb and wore flip flops. After walking a couple miles... OUCH!!! Those shoes ARE NOT made for walking.
My allergies are kicking my butt. The prescription my doctor gave me doesn't seem to be helping either. Poor Adia has it just as bad as me too. Lucky her, the biggest gene I passed on to her is my allergies. Woohoo.
I get to go grocery shopping with my mother in law today. I LOVE grocery shopping. I try to get all the veggies and fruits fresh, but there are some veggies (corn, asparagus and green beans) that I would rather by canned. And I get my brussel sprouts frozen. We do whole wheat with pasta and bread too. I get only Oakhurst milk because it has no growth hormones. I don't want Adia going through puberty at 9 or 10!! I just wish there was a way to tell whether the meat I buy has growth hormones or not.
I talked to my friend Brian last night about self sufficient living and he was telling me that his old boss used to build yurts and was really into the idea of self sufficient living. So, I made him promise to get me some information on yurts and land (how to get it cheaply).
Well, I am going to go take a shower before Nana gets here. Ta ta.

Not Much

This weekend is Mother's Day! Yay! Adia and I have plans for gramma and mimi's mothers day gifts. Hopefully our friend Deb will be able to take us to the store this afternoon. Because in addition to getting supplies for the gifts we need to get diapers and wipes.
My friend Sue and her daughter are giving Adia her first tricycle too. I am really looking forward to that. I'm just imagining when we get into a new place Adia pedaling all around the driveway.
Hmmm. Little girl is in her crib... supposed to be sleeping but I hear her singing to herself. In other news, she now knows how to get in and out of her crib. Not good. I am thinking she might be ready for a big girl bed, but we can't really afford one yet.
Well, I guess I am done for now. Maybe later tonight I'll write something.

Three Quick Things

First off: I got my first mosquito bite of the season. While I was at my husbands work bringing him dinner. On my stomach. Punks.
Second: Wow. It's supposed to be about 80 degrees tomorrow. That will be nice. Trust me, Adia and I will be outside as much as possible. We gotta walk to Rollinsford to do laundry, and then we will probably go to the playground, then bring Daddy his dinner and then go to MoPS. I was thinking of making shepherds pie tomorrow, but now I am wondering if I should just make a pasta salad...
Third: My sister, Leisa's husband, Luke M. Freudenberg (google him, you'll be surprised at how much he has accomplished at his age.) is a campaign manager for a presidential candidate, Tom Tancredo. Honestly, I don't agree with Mr. Tancredo on all of his views, but I do on the abortion view. There are a few candidates who are pro life, but none of them are from NH :) And then you have Mitt Romney who can't decide whether a baby is a baby or just tissue. Dee da dee.
Ugh... alright. It's midnight. I'm tired. I go to bed now. Goodnight.

This Should Be Fun

Well typing up this blog should be interesting. Adia is very content in my lap so consequntly I am typing with one hand. Which unfortunately is my left hand. Ah, she decided to get down.
Our day has been so completely uneventful its not even funny. But we have good plans for the rest of the day. I want to make cookies today so I am thinking of running to the store in a bit to get eggs. And then, pof course, Adia will help me again making the cookies. After that we promised my husband we would bring him dinner tonight. Adia and I are thinking chicken, rice (With peppers and onions) brussel sprouts and carrots. I love cooking. Especially with foods other then the staples (grains, meat, etc.) Like if I am making rice I like to put some extras in it, like peppers, or corn or really whatever. Coz to me it seems like rice is like tofu. It takes on the flavor of whatever you are cooking it with.
Quick question... I've always been curious, even as a child, what is wrong with Richard Simmons. Is he gay or is he an alien or... WHAT???
Oh and I found some more websites on the topic of self sufficient living. It's more for my own research but I think it is so unbelievable interesting.
http://pages.prodigy.net/jmiller.cb/slv.html
http://wy.essortment.com/selfsufficient_rrcx.htm
http://www.karavans.com/a_offthegrid.html
Alot of people keep telling me that we can't afford to do this right now, including my husband. I completely understand that. But, NOW is the time to start saving for it, now is the time to do research on it, and maybe now is the time to start taking little baby steps to our ultimate goal.
I know that for my part I plan to work on my credit (getting some might be nice), save ALL the money I reasonably can and do as much research on the topic as I can. I don't know. I don't get passionate about much. But this is SO important to me. It seems like the smartest thing anybody can do. I feel like if I don't at least work towards this I will be a complete idiot. People don't just have passions and goals for no reason.

Skittles

I didn't write anything yesterday. It was quite a day for Adia and I. Tiring, stressful (for me)...
Today was nice though. We woke up a little earlier than usual this morning because we got to visit my brother and sister in laws church. And we got skittles from their pastor. :) It was part of the message. Then we got back a little late, but still ended up going to our church. Then we went for dinner with both sets of parents to Buggaboo Creek. A talking tree, and a talking buffalo... scary stuff. Right now I am in the process of making Oreo brownies to bring to the Cafe tonight. They may not be from scratch, but they are just as good. :)
Friday night Adia and I got to go out for ice cream at Fogarty's. Oh my goodness. I just ordered chocolate ice cream with chocolate syrup for myself, and a mini vanilla for Adia. That chocolate, though, was one of the yummiest ice creams I have ever tried.
About a month ago I got a kite for Adia from the local pharmacy. I have been thinking that since it's been so windy lately that maybe tomorrow I should try and set it up for us. Hopefully I can figure it out because I think she would have a lot of fun with it. (I know I will.) I am so glad summer is so close. Hopefully we'll be able to get out and maybe go to the beach or out for ice cream or just loooooong summer walks more than we were able to last summer.
Well I am going to go post this and surf the web while both my husband and daughter are napping.

Alrighty

Yay! I have a minute. Since I took the day off yesterday I had to do twice the housework today.
So I had the best conversation with my husband this morning. I personally have had a lot on my mind lately. I know I am only twenty four, but the way I look at it is if I don't start planning for my future and my daughters future we might never achieve our goals. I just recently realized how unsatisfied I am. My husband and I (miraculously) both have the same ultimate goal, as far as housing goes: we would like to have our own land and house. Here is an example of basically exactly what we would like to do: http://www.solarhaven.org/AchievingSelfSufficiency.htm
We would like to have our own animals (cows or goats - one or the other, chickens, and pigs for milk, and meat. We could also use the manure for gardening.), we would like to depend on rainwater and snow for our water - which is abundant in this area, we'd like to use solar panels, we would have our own garden to grow vegetables, and herbs. We would also like to forgo using a vehicle and instead depend on a bicycle. Although that would pose a problem concerning my son. We just aren't really sure how to go about this. Obviously research would be the first step, but money? It's so important to be responsible for the earth. God gave it to us and asked us to be good stewards of what He has given us. I am all for progress, but it seems like with all the gas, oil, and just all around nasty pollution we aren't progressing. We are killing the earth. I want to be able to make our own clothes. Proverbs 31 talks about the "perfect" wife. And I really want to be that. I think part of that is being self sufficient, That is such a big... want for me. I WANT TO BE SELF SUFFICIENT!!
We also talked about school for Adia. At first he was like "why are we talking about this." Then I mentioned that she's gonna be going into preschool next year. Our biggest desire is to homeschool her. And I honestly think that will be possible. I HOPE.

Here Is A Cute One

I just remembered this picture. It's Adia, when she was less then a day old. I love watching her learn and grow, but I so totally miss those days when she was all little and cuddly.

Isn't she sooooooo adorable???

My Day Off

Almost every Thursday my husband gives me a day off. He takes my daughter and goes over his brothers for the day. It's supposed to be a day where I just chill out and do whatever I want, but normally I end up cleaning, doing the cleaning you can't do with a toddler around (scrubbing the walls, cleaning the oven, etc.). Either that or I go do some errands in town. Maybe twice in the past two months have I actually taken a day off. Well darn it, I'm doing it today.
I take sleeping pills, because I have horrid insomnia. A few nights ago I took my pill and went to bed, and fell asleep. Then my husband came in about an hour later and woke me up. About fifteen minutes later he says "Why aren't you sleeping? Didn't you take a pill?" I was like"Yeah, but you woke me up." With the pill I take it puts me out, but if I get woken up, I'm up. So he told me to go take another pill, so I did, and I fell right out. Last night I take two right off the bat, and I went right to bed. My husband came in a couple hours later and started snoring. So, consequently I have been up since 1am... and I can't fall back asleep. So THAT is why I am taking an actual day off.
For dinner tonight I am making some chicken wraps. With rice, and cheese, and sour cream. Dang... that sounds good. I can't wait for dinner. Oh and for lunch I am having tortellini and brussel sprouts... yummy.
Alright... I'm done.

Uh oh

We moved into our apartment with the understanding that it was only short term. I talked to someone today and it was sort of reiterated so I came back upstairs and told my husband to make sure he knew that we need to be saving money. And he's mad now! (Not at me) I sort of understand but at the same time we moved in knowing it was only short term... I don't feel like he has the right to be angry, but I guess that's not my call.
We don't really have to worry about the money to have a security deposit, by then we will have enough saved up. FINDING an apartment is going to be the hard part. A two bedroom would be ideal, but around here, they are average $1000 a month with nothing included.
My husband also said this morning that me not working right now is ideal. That... it bothers me. I feel kinda useless if I am not working. I want to be out making money. I don't feel like I am just meant to stay at home cleaning, cooking, and teaching. I'm not saying that isn't an important job, it's VERY important, but I don't feel like that's what I should be doing right now. This sounds so cheesy and selfish and prideful, but I feel like I should be doing something that will make a difference. I just don't know what...
Well, as I've been typing these... ramblings of an idiot, I have also been searching craigslist.com and I think that I have found a nice apartment. Not in town, unfortunately, but in Sanford... the only thing is we would definitely need a vehicle. Although I think we could make that happen, even though we'd have to pay a security. And maybe I could even find daycare and work... there are plenty of job opportunities in Sanford. And it looks cute. I just have to talk to my husband. I need to work out a budget for us and... I really think we could do this. If anyone reads this... PLEASE pray for us. I really believe God doesn't want us to go back to a shelter... I just need to pray and believe that He does have SOMEWHERE he wants us to be.
Alright... I am gonna go do some math. Wish me luck. :)

Real Quick

I found this online just a minute ago and I HAD to add this. It's adorable.
Laughing baby...HILARIOUS!!!

Add to My Profile | More Videos

Pitfalls of Free Time

While Adia is napping I usually am online, looking up things of interest to me. Lately it has been personality types, and things like that. So, while doing that I found something called the Jung Typology Test, and I took it. Apparently I am a "protector guardian". Here is a couple links if you are curious about what that means
http://keirsey.com/personality/sjif.html
http://typelogic.com/isfj.html
I have to say I was a little surprised at first when I read the profiles. Then I thought about it, and it is a lot like me. I like to volunteer for a lot of things, be of as much help as possible. At home, instead of asking my husband to vacuum, even though I may have a butt load of things to do, I will do it myself, just because I "KNOW" he'll miss a spot. (Never mind that my husband and I have equal levels of neat freakness in us.) LOL, me: EVERY night before we put Adia to bed I have to put all her books in alphabetical order, then height. Same with toys. Her dolls all have their own little box and I get pretty annoyed with my husband if I find them in the regular toy box. Her musical instruments have their own shelves. Our dry food is arranged in types: veggies, pasta, rice, tomatoes, snacks... yeah... I need a life. I'm trying to get better with Adia though. I have o remember that she's a toddler and doesn't really understand order yet (though I am trying to teach her.) I think in other areas though that my having to have things done a certain way is a good thing, such as with teaching Adia. Strangely, my little girl does not like the alphabet song. I've tried singing different versions and she still gets, well... mad. So instead of teaching her the alphabet like that, every day we have a letter of the day. I show her what the letter looks like and have her trace it with her finger and then we write it on her chalkboard. Then we find books that start with the letter (say the letter of the day is P... we would read Pinocchio.), and after we read the books we find an animal who starts with the letter in her flashcards. Then if we go anywhere during the day I point out things that start with the letter. I know. I'm pretty pathetic, but it gives me something to do, and she learns in the process. Which reminds me we must start our Mothers Day Project. Exciting. :)
Ugh alright. I am gonna post this so the darling and I can go for a walk.

Oh... What To Do???

Okay. It's beautiful outside and it's supposed to be about 60 degrees today. I really want to take Adia to the playground today, but I don't know if I'll have time. Eh, I'll MAKE time.
I started a new allergy medicine today. It actually worked so much better than I thought it would. I woke up this morning, completely stuffed up, then I popped one of the allergy pills. I feel wonderful now. (Geez, all I'd have to do is tell you the name and I'd be a walking advertisement.)
So, I just hit spell check, and apparently I spelled my daughters name wrong. I love that. Or the pronunciation that some people come up with. It's a 4 letter word! And even after I tell them the correct pronunciation they still say "Aiduh??? Adiuh?" NO!
Well, now that I got that out of my system I am gonna go for now.
