Oh its been awhile since I have posted on here.
Currently, Miss Adia is sick. We are assuming a really bad cold or the flu. Last night I was woken up by a tap on the shoulder. Adia said, "Mommy I am sick." and proceeded to throw up. For quite awhile. We took her temperature. It was 104.2 and then about ten minutes after we gave her tylenol it went down to 103.5. I think that was the worst of it, because her temperature has been pretty low all day today. I am just glad she didn't have a seizure. It has now been 8 months since her last seizure.
She has finally mastered the sign language for the numbers 1-10, along with kitty, milk, more, puppy, I love you, airplane, and (my husbands personal favorite) poop. I am very excited for next year. Instead of sending her to preschool I'll just teach her what she needs to know at home. I have plenty of preschool learning books (numbers, shapes, sizes, letters, etc.). It's one of my MANY freaky obsessions, finding preschool workbooks.
We were supposed to get our landline hooked up today but... it doesn't seem to be working. My husband thinks it may be the jack. It's very interesting watching him try to figure it out.
Alright. I think I am done for now. Goodnight.

Well, we have a LOT of stuff going on. Some of it is kinda crappy and other stuff is good. Most of it I am probably not gonna talk about but there is a couple things I will mention.
I was diagnosed this past Friday with a panic disorder, along with acute agoraphobia.
I honestly feel really uncomfortable saying that. Not because I feel it is an inaccurate diagnosis, in fact, I think it is extremely accurate. I feel uncomfortable saying it mainly because it sounds so dramatic. It explains a lot for me, but it also puts a few more questions into, not just my life, but my family's too. On the plus side, though, the doctor who diagnosed me, also said that my past diagnosis of bipolar disorder is pretty much bull. So yay for me.
I also got a couple coloring pages from my son in the mail today. That was nice. His father also FINALLY emailed me. I'm trying to get at least one recent picture of him, but his father is giving me crap about it. It drives me nuts how he acts so holier than thou, when he's out partying, going to concerts, drinking, going to all sorts of ballgames, and leaving my son with God knows who. And the court deemed him the better parent. Go figure.
I have a cute new picture to post tonight. I made chicken fettucine alfredo with asparagus and brussel sprouts for dinner tonight. (Homemade alfredo sauce too.) Anyway, Adia decided she wanted to play with her food... and then eat it...
So, pretty nasty, but kinda funny too. I had to take a picture.
And now, I am off to make banana splits for the family.

I am now about to post some pictures!!!! So hold on, while I try not to get too annoyed with my computer. (It hates me... it really does.)
BTW, while I am making my pictures smaller here is a link to show what colors I think I have decided on for my apartment.

The girls begged me for "makeovers", so, after some makeup, nail polish, and a new hairdo, here is the result.

Just a cute picture of Adia reading

Christmas morning... is any other explanation needed?

This is, hands down, my ABSOLUTE most favorite picture of Adia.

Dinner last night... I didn't realize that meat shrinks...

My first chocolate creme pie. YUMMY!

Yesterday, my big sister turned 30... so, now, she is OLD. That's right. I said it. Anyways, I took a bunch of pictures and I WILL post them. Later though.
It was SO amazing this morning... I woke up. (Well, that isn't really amazing. I do that every day.) At 8:30. My husband made my daughter stay out of the living room, just so I could sleep in a bit. I thought that was amazingly kind. It's not often the three of us have a FULL day alone together. It's nice.
I decided that I am going to paint my apartment. Since the kitchen, dining room and living room are KIND of open concept I'm trying to find a color (or two) that will go well in every room. I have a few ideas. One is red and black. The only thing that would be black is the trim. But, we have a lot of wood in our apartment so that might be kinda... eh. I like light green and brown alot though. I, at one point was thinking brown and light blue, but my husband thinks thats horrible, so... hopefully he and I will sit down tonight and hash it all out. It probably won't happen for at least another month or two (the painting), but, I am REALLY excited. Maybe get a new dish set, and silverware, and light switches, and MAYBE even a tapestry to hang over the wall paper. (I DO NOT like our one wall of wallpaper. At. ALL.) If we had gone with the red and black I would have gotten a Chinese tapestry, but...
Eh. 4:03 pm... I should start defrosting le ground turkey. Pizza meatloaf for dinner tonight. Pathetically easy. Ground turkey, shredded cheese, onions, green peppers, and spaghetti sauce. And only 255 calories a serving.
Cheerio. Rice Krispies. Cornflakes.

Holy Moley

So people do read my blog!!! YAY! I feel so special. Okay, I'll stop.
Little funny thing happened yesterday. For Christmas one of the gifts I got Adia was a little dress up set. It's green, furry (or feathery) and COMPLETELY tacky. It includes a hat, little high heels (complete with fur... or feathers) and a feather boa. So, yesterday morning, she's decided to undress herself after breakfast. She goes in her room and comes back out wearing the feather boa, the high heels and a diaper. All I could think was "Please God! Don't let my daughter be the next Britney Spears."
I had an EEG last Tuesday morning. They finally got a hold of me and they want me to go to a neurologist. Honestly, I don't think it's anything physical. I think it's probably all psychological, maybe brought on by stress. I've been researching it all and I DEFINITELY do not have epilepsy.
So, my father in law hurt his back pretty badly. He has to use a cane and it's been pretty rough for him. Adia saw him on Sunday and we explained to her that Papa hurt his back. Well, all week long Adia has been saying, "Papa hurt his back... I wanna give him a hug." She tells us at least 20 times a day. "Papa's hurtin'." It's cute.
Alright, well, I smell a yucky diaper...

Oh my goodness

YAY!!! It's been like 6 months since we have had the internet. I am so giddy right now.
So... whats going on???
Babysitting. Seems like all the time, but its something I'm good at. There is usually at least two toddlers in the house. And occasionally a couple of seven year olds. I've noticed in the past couple weeks that it is seriously impossible to keep my daughters room picked up. Seriously, I get everything put away, all the books organized, her bed made, all her little people stuff put together, and I go out to the kitchen for maybe 10 minutes. When I go back in her room, her books are half way across her room, her bedspread is on top of her radio flyer rocking horse and don't get me started on the little people. (Hmmm... that made me sound a little crazy...) I don't know what to do. I seriously can't stand it that messy, but I have things to do other than cleaning her room 24/7.
So, this is gross. I am eating spam plain. Not even spam. It's the store brand. (But I like that stuff better.)
My husband and I are thinking of switching our lightbulbs to LED. We don't pay electricity, but still, it seems like a good thing to do, they last longer, and its cheaper than regular light bulbs.
I have gone 90% natural concerning personal hygiene stuffs. Shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothpaste are all natural. Next year after I start working I plan on buying recycled paper towels, t.p., etc. Our food is about 50% organic. It's funny. I LOVE organic food, and soy, my whole family does (even Adia), but there are some things I could just NEVER give up. Namely, mac and cheese and spam. So yummy.
Adia is doing really good. She is sort of potty trained. Basically, she is quite capable of using the bathroom, but doesn't really feel it most of the time. Although, lately, I have noticed that she gets annoyed with having to wear a diaper quite a bit. So...
Anyways... she is a major talker. One of the funniest things she does is she will be talking to me and all of a sudden she'll say "Papa got a cookie in his head?" and I will look at her funny, so she'll start laughing and then say "Ummm... Daddy got a cookie in his head?" and just go through everyone in our family. It totally cracks me up. She loves to make people laugh.
Well. This is enough for now. Ciao.

So. I am at the library.
We had a doctors appointment. Adia is now 36 inches tall, which puts her in the 95th percentile for her height and she is 29 lbs which puts her in the 75th percentile for weight. He said that she is VERY advanced in the verbal communication area, which is cool. I always freak, mainly because she doesn't say her abc's on her own. She knows them, but she won't say them, but she can and will say anything else. My husband and I are also trying to teach her some spanish and portuguese, and since we both have a background in sign language she is getting some good schooling in that as well. What else can I do but drive the girl crazy with teaching? I AM a stay at home mom. It's not like I have a life. :)
He also said she is getting good nutrition too. I was worried, coz she still won't eat meat. I always wonder if its coz I didn't eat meat while I was pregnant with her. She was only six months old when I started eating meat again so I know she doesn't remember me not eating meat. But, I've heard that when you are pregnant the foods you crave end up being your childs favorite so I wonder if it goes the same for foods you hated while pregnant they hate to...
We are having breakfast for dinner tonight. Beanies and weenies, homefries, eggs and muffins. Since my husband is working days this week it's really nice, and he is going to collaborate with me on dinner. I'll probably have him reheat the beanies and weenies. :)
MOPS tonight. I pulled my arm out of joint this afternoon. Hurts alot, but my husband gave me some crazy blue oval pill (NO, NOT viagra) after he got home from work. It still hurts but only if I lift my arm.
Yep. Going home and making dinner now. Ciao.

So... she takes off her diaper and proceeds to poop on the floor. Yeah. But at least she is trying. I'll post the pictures at some point. Yesterday was long. We spent the day at the inlaws - Happy Birthday Momma! and got home around seven. Then I did dishes and a load of laundry. I then relaxed. Goodnight all.

Sunday, September 2, 2007

Wow. I love Family Guy. The show is aways SOOOOOO funny. I'm watching it with my husband right now. I could easily say that it is my favorite television show.
We had such a great time at Fort Foster yesterday. I took a huge amount of pictures, but because I am lazy, I probably wont get around to posting any pictures until tomorrow night. Adia got to pet about 7 or 8 dogs, so she was very happy.
So, though Adia has been peeing in her potty chair regularly, she hadn't pooped in it yet. Today she did it. But first she decided to poop next to it... yeah. I was thrilled. Fun, fun. But, potty training is alot easier than I thought it would be. Maybe just coz I didn't really have any expectations for it, like how old she would be or how long it would be.
Tomorrow is my mother in laws birthday. I got her a candle and two framed photographs of Adia. My husband got her the goofiest card. Something about paper pickles. Men...
Yep. Bedtime now.

Adia and I had a good day yesterday, and at the end of the day Adia's friend Elijah came over to play. We had macaroni and cheese with hamburg mixed in, and BANANAS!!! No ice cream this time though. :( After they ate we all went in Adia's room and colored and played music. After an hour or so Elijah's mommy and I decided to wear our rambunctious little toddlers out and had them run up and down the big hill on our buildings property. I don't know if it wore the kids out, but I was certainly exhausted afterwards. When my husband got home from work Elijah's mommy and I went to Dunkin' Donuts where I got to hold my friend Andrea's three month old baby. I also got to burp her AND got spit up on. I think she gave me most of her dinner.
Also, on Sunday my husbands parents took us grocery shopping and our little family made a HUGE change in our lives. Except for mac and cheese for the girls (and Elijah on occasion) we bought NO noodles. We also bought a butt load of fish. Healthier eating. Also while we were there I picked up a copy of the latest Mother Earth news. There was an article in it that I really enjoyed on homesteading.
Tonight I will try to post a few photo's up here if I get a chance.
